It is one of those words that seems to belong to history books, ancient cities, and documentaries watched far too late at night. When I was in high school, I was fascinated by the Maya calendar and all those dramatic predictions about the end of the world. Thankfully, the world carried on.
Today, Maya culture remains very much alive in Guatemala, a country filled with the warmth, colour, and creative spirit of Latin America.
You may now be wondering what any of this has to do with Pilates reformers.
The connection appeared during a conversation with my colleague Clay. He mentioned that Edward, one of our sales representatives, had recently completed an order for a customer opening a Pilates studio in Guatemala City.
The project included fourth-generation Pilates reformers tower, custom branding, and studio accessories. Warrior Pilates supported the customer from equipment selection and customization to production, inspection, packing, and shipping.
Choosing Suitable Reformers Tower for the Studio
“When I received the enquiry, I first discussed the studio’s needs with the customer,” Edward explained.
Guatemala has a tropical climate, and its rainy season can bring high humidity. Materials, storage conditions, and daily equipment care therefore deserved more attention than they might in a dry climate.
Edward compared several reformer specifications with the customer. After more than one conversation—they selected our fourth-generation Pilates reformer.
A studio owner cannot choose commercial equipment from photographs alone. The buyer needs to consider the local climate, teaching method, planned class format, available floor space, and accessories required for daily use.
These details should be confirmed before production begins. They give the studio owner and manufacturer a shared understanding of the order. If a customer wants to modify a design based on a particular reformer model, we can also assess the project for customization.

Matching the Reformers to the Studio
The customer chose the upholstery colour from our digital pantone color card and requested a custom studio logo.
The customer finished studio has a warm, minimalist interior, with white walls and natural wood flooring. The reformers take up much of the visual space, so their upholstery and branding needed to feel like part of the room.
Digital pantone color card are useful for making an initial selection. Still, colours can look different on different screens. When a buyer has a particular interior palette, they can send us photographs of the studio. We can place reformers with different upholstery colours into those images to create a visual preview before production.
This gives the buyer a clearer idea of how the equipment will look inside the finished space.
Following the Order Through Production
“After we confirmed the order details, our factory arranged the materials, production, and assembly,” Edward said. “I also shared progress updates with the customer across the Pacific so they could see how the equipment was being made.”
For an overseas studio owner, regular updates make a large order feel much less distant. The customer can follow the reformers from prepared materials to finished equipment instead of spending several weeks wondering what is happening behind the factory doors.
After assembly, the order moved through factory inspection, export packing, and shipping. We documented these stages in our Guatemala customer story.
From Our Factory to Guatemala City
“The 12 reformers towers were shipped with Pilates socks, mats, dumbbells, and double-loop straps,” Edward said. “After receiving the order, the customer sent me photos of the reformer towers inside the new studio. She was very happy with the result.”
For us, this project was about more than placing 12 machines in a shipping container. It showed how equipment selection, climate, interior design, customization, and communication must work together when preparing a new Pilates studio.
Each decision eventually became part of a real space where instructors would teach and clients would move.
